frame size or buy the optional frame extension. |

BRAKE OPTIONS |
For 2016 every trailer we sell will have the modern disc
braking system. If you tow frequently you will want disc brakes
for the superior braking feature. See the web for the benefits
of disc brakes. If you tow infrequently but need brakes on your
trailer because of weight, you will want disc brakes. Old
fashion drum brakes on boat trailers cal (will) lock up from
water sitting in the drums rusting the springs and moving parts.
The automotive industry switched to disc brakes twenty years
ago. The price of disc brakes is within a couple hundred dollars
and you'll pay that to have the drum brakes serviced in two
years.
OURS |
Modern “custom” style brake actuator. Along with
modern disc brakes our brake trailers have the modern
custom look brake coupler with back up lock out. (your
brakes won’t engage when backing up) |

An Editoriral Regarding Brakes |
|
We’ve wanted to switch to disc brakes for years. They are so superior to drum brakes that its an outrage that most trailers still come with old fashioned drum brakes. Everyone seems to think that disc brakes are so much more expensive. The fact is that disc brakes are a bit more expensive but most manufacturers, distributors and dealers take additional profits on brakes. Here’s one manufacturers pricing:
|
|
|
|
Stocking Distributor-$525 |
Distributor-$600 | Dealer-$650 |
Retail-$825 |
|
|
|
The trailer manufacturer doesn’t “make” the brakes. He’s certainly is entitled to some profit for installing them on the trailer. But, the distributors and dealers don’t “do anything” except add their profit margins to the cost of the brakes. The price can raise $300 between the manufacturer and your sale price, this is ridiculous. Our manufacturer has sharpened his pencil on disc brake pricing.
We take NO PROFIT on brakes so as to offer you an incentive first to purchase brakes and secondly to give you the very best product at a fair price.
